David Sudnow 1938-2007

I know of no good way to say this. David's wife Wendy called today to let me know that David passed away last Friday, July 20, 2007

He went into the hospital last Monday and things deteriorated quickly. Wendy said that David was appreciative of everyone's good wishes and comforted by the realization that he will live on in the myriad versions of "Misty" we've all unleased upon the world, and those quirky little dot songs.

He leaves behind an enthusiastic following of people whose lives, musically and otherwise, have been forever changed and improved by our crossing of paths with the iconoclastic Suds.

I will forever hear his distinctive voice and feel his infectious enthusiam whenever I play my piano or think about music.

I'm sad that he's gone but comforted to think that he's part of a much bigger jam session now.

I'll miss you David but I'll remember you every time I sit in front of a piano or have an impassioned debate about music, life, art, or injustice.
