Interesting interview in the NY Times (4/30/15) with Philip Glass, composer and author of the memoir “Words Without Music”. Here are a few tidbits from the interview:
Favorite books on music (both very funny)-
Oscar Levant’s “Memoirs of an Amnesiac”. You may remember Levant from “An American in Paris”. This is one I’m putting on my to-read list. Also “Harpo Speaks!”
Favorite biography or memoirs by musicians –
“Evenings With the Orchestra” – Hector Berlioz
