On the misty pages with the dots, the chords are also notated– there is M used to designate notes– what does the M mean. I am confused– I play the notes marked with the dots but Don’t sense that I am getting the patterns learned. I feel confused.
(M)elody note. You don’t have to pay too much attention in the beginning to the ‘fractions’ that spell out the chords. Learning that notation will help you do your own voicings, which is covered in the third lesson in the video seminar: “Learning to voice”.
To begin with just learn “Misty” from the dots. Feel free to learn about the fractions but you don’t need them to use the dot format.
