I’m putting the finishing touches on the the details of the new Dot Songbook #1. If you want to ‘pre-order’ before the announcement is made public just send me an email or use the contact form (you don’t need to pay anything to reserve a copy right now – I’ll send you the details.)
Here are the four songs: ‘My Funny Valentine’, ‘Over The Rainbow’, ‘Someone To Watch Over Me’, and ‘When I Fall in Love.”
The new format includes David’s original notes about each some, some additional info from Ted Gioia’s book about standards, notes on transitioning to reading lead sheets, plus a full size, ‘legal’ lead sheet version of each song. The pdf file can be used from an iPad or tablet and has interactive links to make navigation easier.
In addition you’ll have access to recordings by David Sudnow (and a couple by me – because David didn’t create any for two songs) so you can hear what each sounds like.
Because we pay royalties for the use of these songs the initial bundle available to sell is limited – at least until we renegotiate the agreement – so there may be some delay once we’ve sold the first batch. I have no idea how long that might take.
The Dot Songbook will be a ‘course’ on your home page that you can access whenever you’d like as long as your membership is current. In any case you can download the pdf to your own computer. Please respect copyright laws and don’t duplicate or distribute without permission.

You both are on the ‘list’. I’ll email everyone who’s reserved prior to making the product visible on the web site.
I ran into a little delay while organizing everything on the site. Turns out that David created dot songs for “Over the Rainbow” and “Someone To Watch Over Me” but did not create recordings of those songs. Thus I’ll have to create them myself-although first I have to learn them as David notated them. Shouldn’t take too long but I’m out of town for a few days next week so most likely the launch will be after Labor Day.
Thanks for everyone’s support. We have pre-orders for half the original copyright run already.
